Co(l)laboratory Welcomes Civic Engagement Project Officer

Thursday 1 February 2024

I’m Andrew Holness, the newest member of the Co(l)laboratory team, stepping into the exciting role of Civic Engagement Project Officer. I have a background in finance and computer science, and I have a passion for community engagement.

At the heart of my work is the belief that community input is not just valuable but essential. My primary goal is to bridge the gap between our research endeavours and the communities they impact. By fostering open dialogue and ensuring that local voices are not just heard but are included in the process of shaping our research, I aim to cultivate projects that are deeply relevant and beneficial to Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

For the duration of my time working with the Co(l)laboratory team, I’ll be assisting initiatives to gather community insights, particularly focusing on engaging younger minds. Our presence at the Nottingham Festival of Science and Curiosity will mark the beginning of this journey.

I am extremely excited to translate the perspectives and creative ideas from the citizens of Nottingham into actionable research that resonates with our community’s needs and aspirations.

I am thrilled to be part of the Co(l)laboratory team and look forward to making a meaningful impact on our community.
