Co(l)laboratory PhD research projects are designed in collaboration with local community focused organisations to address challenges that are important to Nottingham and Nottinghamshire communities.
Co(l)laboratory PhD studentships
Co(l)laboratory PhD studentships are packages of funding awarded to a successful applicant to enable them to work towards their PhD degree as part of the Co(l)laboratory programme.
PhDs operate similarly to on-the-job learning roles, where candidates work full-time for 3-years to develop and conduct original research, all while receiving full support, training, and other opportunities.

What does a studentship include?
All candidates successful after application and interview will receive a fully funded Co(l)laboratory PhD studentship, which includes the following:
- Payment of tuition fees for the full duration of your PhD, whether part-time or full-time.
- A monthly, tax-free stipend of £19,237, per annum, pro-rata, paid in arrears.
- Access to training and resources from two, world-class universities.
- Dedicated supervision from expert researchers and community practitioners.
- Unique and comprehensive support through our researcher leadership development program.
- Award of a PhD degree on successful completion.

Our PhD Studentship Scheme is open to all UK based candidates (who are eligible for UK Home Students fees) who hold at least a 2.1 Undergraduate degree (or 2.2 or less with a Masters), or those who are able to demonstrate that they have equivalent professional experience.
