Volunteers Needed to Participate in Discussions Around Public Attitudes to PhD Research in Nottingham

    Wednesday 04 October 2023

What’s a PhD – and who, and what are they for?

Our Co(l)laboratory researcher, Dr. Rachel Handforth, is currently recruiting volunteers to participate in a discussion group. These discussions aim to gain insight into how residents of Nottinghamshire perceive and comprehend PhD research degrees.

Do I need to know what a PhD is, or need to have been to university, in order to take part?

If you would like to take part in this research, you will need to attend one 90-minute discussion group in November 2023 and answer a short follow-up email in March 2024. You will receive a £20 electronic high street shopping voucher for taking the time to participate and share your views, which will be e-mailed to you after you have attended a group.

    How can I participate ?

To volunteer to take part in this discussion group, please provide your details in this online form so that we can contact you to arrange this.

For more details about this research, please see download participant information sheet below. This event will be held in a Nottingham City centre venue, with the option to attend an online group via Microsoft Teams if you prefer.

Please note that this project has gone through the relevant NTU research ethics procedures and has been given a favourable ethics opinion by Nottingham Trent University’s Schools of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment, Art and Design, Arts and Humanities Research Ethics Committee.
